The Financial Times can now be accessed via Nexis but there appears to be 24 hour embargo, so today's FT cannot be accessed. The instructions for gaining access to the FT are tortuous and at the moment we cannot set this up centrally , each individual user has to set it up. We are deeply unhappy about this and are meeting with the company to pursue this issue on the 8 April. To be fair to Nexis it seems that this has been imposed on them by the publishers of the FT. If this cannot be resolved we may have to consider buying the FT another way.
The instructions on how to set up up the FT are too lengthy to include here, if you are desperate to access the FT please e-mail me, r.hines@shu.ac.uk and I will send you a copy.
If our meeting on Tuesday does not resolve the issue we will make the instructions more widely available until we can resolve the issue.
